2023 Grading Days

  • Post category:News

Why do we grade at Oatley FC?

Teams are submitted as Beginners,Intermediate or Advanced.
The Club needs to look at the players to ensure they are placed in the correct grade. It isn’t fair to grade our teams incorrectly – it doesn’t help anyone and eventually the team will be regraded if there are huge wins or huge losses. The players need to be playing at their level in a team with players of similar ability.

This year we are asking that EVERYONE attends grading day even if your team is already formed.

Why?

1. Our Committee attends the grading day, we hire the field and it is a great way of shaking the cobwebs off the boots and getting our kids back into the swing of football again.

2. Some teams are not formed yet and need help.

3. Last year some age groups did not attend – we had new players arrive – they thought we had no players or teams and hence left to go somewhere else – we needed those players! Some teams were still short.

4. Last year many of our teams needed subs from other teams – some kids are too shy to say yes because they don’t know anyone – by attending grading day they meet new people in their club and can help out during the season. Last year we had too many forfeits – that isn’t the solution. It just disappoints too many people.

5. Support the club that supports you – it’s only an hour – let’s get ready for the season!
